EMOTIONS
Release on November 6th, 2020

My album Emotions has grown out of my wish to broaden my musical explorations with pieces that everyone knows and loves.

For several years now my cello and I have wanted to share the melodies on this album: Debussy's Clair de lune, Schubert's Ave Maria (with the Maîtrise Notre-Dame), "Nimrod" from Elgar's Enigma Variations, You and Me – the theme song of the 29th Olympic Games, Beijing 2008, by the marvellous composer Qigang Chen — as well as songs that mean a lot to me such as Piaf's Hymne à l’amour or Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
For this album of Emotions, I asked my longtime collaborator, the pianist and composer Jérôme Ducros, to arrange these wonderful pieces of music for us to perform together with conductor Adrien Perruchon and the Orchestre de chambre de Paris.
Emotions,
evoking the Paris of Debussy, of Piaf, of Fauré and of Satie, evoking Paris from the alleys of Montmartre to the Eiffel Tower…
